Tomorrow you won’t be mine

I know where it will hurt the most

I know when, and how

Yet I am holding on to a hope,

A little more hope for now

Even if this love feels so clear in sight

I know tomorrow you won’t be mine

It burns and hurts in sweet pains

I long, I sob on the little victories,

and little gains

Let me dwell a little more in your love, in your skies

For tomorrow you won’t be mine

Isn’t it crazy how I lose my guards

I drop my walls?

Your thoughts rule my world,

my present and my all

Just for this moment, let me swim in the oceans of delight

For tomorrow you won’t be mine

 You are happier without me,

So full and so complete

Your voice has the sound of a song

That’s playing on my heart on repeat

It’s okay if there’s no future in sight

And tomorrow you won’t be mine

I cling to you dear God,

More tightly now than ever before

You know my deepest desires,

O let me pray a little more

You are here to hold me, one more time

For tomorrow he won’t be mine

I’ve enjoyed your poetry, Mukti ~ hope of a beautiful love, heartstrings of joy, yet cognizant of closure with sorrow, seeking solace in prayer…a wonderful work.
